When enclosed machines win
Choose enclosed systems when operators share a room with non-laser work, you want a clearer class-friendly safety story, or clients/staff will be near the machine during jobs. Closed chassis also simplify day-to-day confidence for first hires.
When open-frame still makes sense
Open frames can deliver more bed area and watts per dollar. They fit shops that already manage laser safety, exhaust, and eye protection as operating discipline—not as an afterthought.
Operational checklist before you buy
Map the install room, ventilation path, who will run jobs, and whether you need passive observation (kids, retail, shared makerspace). If any of those are ambiguous, enclosed is usually the lower-risk business path.
