How to Choose a Resin 3D Printer for Business Detail Work
Resin pays when customers buy surface finish and fine detail—not when you only need structural fixtures. Shortlist MSLA peers inside resin, price the whole cell, then compare volume and resolution against paid SKUs.

Confirm resin is the revenue line
Miniatures, jewelry masters, dental models, and high-detail product prototypes justify resin handling. Fixtures, brackets, and packaging mockups usually belong on FDM first—use the FDM vs resin guide before funding a resin cell.
Buy bed area for nests, not hero specs
Compact Mini-class beds fit desk validation and small masters. Mighty-class platforms cover mid-size batches. Mega and XL formats pay when weekly jobs need large nests—not when marketing resolution alone looks attractive.
Treat XY pitch as a paid constraint
22–28 µm class machines serve fine miniatures and jewelry. 16K Mighty upgrades and 43 µm Mega plates trade pitch for throughput. Do not pay for finer pixels if downstream paint, mold, or customer tolerance never uses them.
Price wash, cure, and ventilation
